The Code 50 is somewhat complex at first but after about an hour I got the hang of it and discovered so many tones I'm already logging presets. Great Amp in a a small package. This characteristic is a big plus since it saves you a lot of time, money and energy. The community is not as large as Fender's Fuse application, but it seems to be growing. I have been learning now for a month or so and really love this amp, it really helps me with the blue tooth and I am able to use it with my phone and can hear what the instructors are doing and what I am trying to do. The Bluetooth feature is a lot of fun, using a tablet to dial in selections and boom, you don't have to stand over the amp and manually press buttons. With a few improvements the Marshall Code line of modeling amplifiers could be far superior to any other amps of this ilk. Dave Snow at Sweetwater always gives me great service and always recommends the right thing. It's there. The JCM 800 simulation alone is worth 250$. But what I did find was , like any other low end modeller in it,s price range , you can acheive some very realistic , and usable pre-sets , and combinations with it. And four, this is now my favourite amplifier! I've gotten one clean tone to sound decent at bedroom levels but all of the other presets start at absurd volume levels so you're forced to use their app to dial it down to reasonable levels and most are still too loud. The Marshall Code 50 Combo is an ideal avenue to take for players who want the flexibility of a well-built modeling amp and the wattage necessary to be heard in practice or gig out with on small-sized stages. The effects selection is good and they all have enough depth in parameters to really dial them in. But overall, this amp was pretty much a disaster for me and a waste of my time. I recommend this amplifier for addition to your performance arsenal!! The only thing so far I'm not digging is the way the music from the iPad sounds, the 12" doesn't work for that as far as I can tell. But HEAVY. I have been on the market for a new Jazz Amp. However, it’s also fair to mention that alongside these, there are tens of sound effects that can be used in the recording room if you experiment and tweak them a bit. We can honestly say that we would use this small guitar amp in a band with a powerful drum kit and a full volume bass amp, since you’ll still be able to hear your awesome guitar lines, cutting through the main mix. At this price range there are much better alternatives. The downside was the cost and it did not have Bluetooth capability. Great for home or live gigs , has many options too list . Having a website with custom presets is freaking great and that you can download them into the amp is so sweet. Oh, and lastly, this thing is loud and at high volumes doesn't break up whatsoever. Then I noticed the Marshall Code 50 Modeling Amp that also had a 12 inch speaker, has Bluetooth connectivity and the cost was significantly lower. !Some of the presets are amazing, the #44 Bluesbreaker reverb is phenomenal. However it sounds good enough that I am planning on using it at my next gig instead of my Blues jr. Add in the convenience of the app and being able to stream music through it, it is awesome! I hope they keep this information available on line for quite some time because the written instructions that come with are not as clear, Don't let the Sweetwater low price scare you away, this thing really rocks. This feature is super handy since it enables you to carry your signature sound and tone with you. I was initially turned off by digital amplifiers due to a bad experience with a Line 6 spider back in 2008. I'm impressed once again!
