strymon iridium stereo setup

I also noticed there's this weird thing where if you have a really hot signal going into it, the bottom like 10% of the level knob sweep doesn't move smoothly. This is where the HX Stomp would be better since they have a couple bass amp sims. The Iridium has an solid-state boost stage, I suspect this behaviour is your signal compressing that. If anyone's got any IR combos they like that I should try let me hear them! I've got the stereo CS9 into the RV-5's modulate mode into the iridium with large room reverb maxed out. JavaScript is disabled. I wish I could also fit a dedicated stereo plate reverb on the board, but I cannot. The internal jumper on these pedals does not need to be adjusted to work in stereo and should be left in its default position (connecting the left 2 pins when viewed from below). Great question, and one I went back and forth on a lot. I think they're different things. The 'round' mode is exactly what I want out of an amp sound. For the TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius, connect a mono TS instrument cable into the LEFT and RIGHT INPUTS along with both LEFT and RIGHT OUTPUTS for stereo input and output. I ordered Sennheiser HD650s (300 ohm) - … I could turn off the cab sim and run the preamp into the power amp input, or I could turn off the preamp section and run the preamp output of my amp into the pedal. Free ground shipping on domestic orders over $49. And yeah the KoT was a DIY build, and then later I screenprinted some art on it. You turn it a bit more until suddenly its at 5%, then again and you're at 8%, then anything beyond that happens smoothly. I was thinking I'd try loading them into one of the Chime mode slots, but maybe the round would be better? On the TimeLine and Mobius ONLY, make sure that the switch on the back of the pedal is set to STEREO IN/OUT. Like other Strymon pedals it has a favourite footswitch [left] as well as on/bypass. If you want to keep all your stereo cables set up and you have the Wavelength before the Iridium in stereo, then switch to sum. My idea with the iridium is I can do all the extra signal processing outside of ableton and only have to work with audio when I do any live looping with it. The software is fine but there isn't a whole lot of fine tuning you can do. By purposefully releasing teasers, Strymon has built up a lot of buzz. Each of our Strymon digital effect pedals (excludes OB.1) have the ability to be used with mono or stereo connections. My sense (not based on any facts) is that Strymon is a more successful company, certainly, a larger one. Basically it makes the distortion smoother, takes out the harsh high end, and gives each eq knob a better sweep, among a few other things. I can say that for someone who also plays with Headphones 90% of the time, the iridium is really great! On the 'large' room setting it gets nice and dreamy, and it stacks pretty well with the RV5. Now I rarely play anything heavy, but thought the punch mode with the drive cranked sounded pretty great. It sounds stuffy and muffled. Glad you finally got one, man! There's been much discussion about recording using the Iridium's direct outputs or the headphone jack! By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. Thanks for the thoughts, I'm very much on the fence getting an Iridium or an Amplifirebox or something pretty much exactly because I hate opening Ableton just to jam. NadIR has a cool function that lets you blend between the two cabs you select so rather than the straight 50/50 you could do 60/40, 25/75, or whatever amount you wanted. I was trying to temper my expectations so as not to get too hyped but it sounds pretty spectacular. The cool thing too is that I could use this thing along with my amp. I've got a Push with the extra footswitch so I can run this directly into my interface and use ableton as a looper without having to worry about any extra audio processing. So, a very successful pre-release. Honestly it ended up coming down to my laptop as well as how I wanted to use it outside of basic recording and practice. For blueSky and Ola, connect a mono TS instrument cable into the LEFT and RIGHT INPUTS along with both LEFT and RIGHT OUTPUTS for stereo input and output. That's all on this for now. It is kinda annoying that when I want to play I have to plug in my interface, load up ableton, set the inputs, load up the VST, and adjust the levels of everything (if I'd used the interface for something else). MT-2 + Iridium: Dunno if anyone's done this yet but just a quick vid showing the modded MT-2 going into the punch mode for some higher gain sounds, and then an example of how I'd actually have it set as a light distortion for solos into a fender amp. I’m just up to page 23 right now, right before the official release. Thread starter DaveNJ; Start date Oct 14, 2019; ... you need to make sure the behringer is set up for a stereo signal (one quarter inch left channel and the other right channel) and not dual mono. Even though I got a good deal on it, I still spent more on the iridium than the entire rest of the board combined. For the TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius, connect a mono TS instrument cable into the LEFT INPUT and LEFT OUTPUT for a mono connection. The room reverb spooked me at first too, I was playing at night and kept yanking off my headphones to see if my amp was on, but it was just the reverb from the Iridium making it sound like I had an amp in the room. I kept catching myself when I was playing because it legit sounded like an amp was reverberating in my living room. For Mono input and Mono output on our small 2 footswitch pedals,  just use a standard mono TS instrument cable into the INPUT and connect a mono TS instrument cable to the LEFT OUTPUT of the pedal. Never understood why people hang their guitars on the wall. I also noticed there's this weird thing where if you have a really hot signal going into it, the bottom like 10% of the level knob sweep doesn't move smoothly. I have not had any issues with it and can dial in a sound fairly quickly and get to playing! Idk how it works really, but its like the most spookily perfect stereo room reverb sound. Some general noodling: ego mini, KoT, little bit of rubberneck, RV5, on the round mode. A little pricey for now, I will probably need to wait a couple of months after purchasing the Iridium. I'm wondering because I've been really enticed by the Iridium, but is the price justifiable? I’ve been struck by the marketing involved in this. I could put the RV-5 after but then I can't use the headphone output. good to know since I wouldn’t mind having them in front since that’s the way I use them with real amps and would like to plug in headphones to the iridium and get the sounds of the delay/reverb through there. That way I can run all my delay/verb after the Iridium amps but still have a way to use headphones with the whole setup.
