Try not to judge the movie immediately. So many movies made about monsters in the night, but I can’t think of another one that uses this approach. I liked that quality quite a bit, but would of liked to have seen them a bit more. Let me start by stating that I am not a big fan of “found footage” films.

It’s not your typical “found footage” film with people being chased around in the dark or lost somewhere, It doesn’t force jump scares to force the feeling of fear either.

My last is getting way too long because of you. It did get me thinking…. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but I will say that I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending.

It had little vfx, and a very unusual story. Excellent news... but whatever happened to that SyFy series that was in development?

The few times we see these monsters take over the screen, they leave nothing behind but rattled nerves and it’s because they’re used sparingly. This is where Digging Up the Marrow is at its best, too.

I found myself thinking of the movie for quite a while after watching it, and I came up with some theories of my own that made the ending make a little more sense.

‘Anything For Jackson’ trailer gives us grief management through satanism, Death, Dying, And Other Things Episode 49: A Story About a Dog. For me, it just didn’t quite hit the spot because the rest of the film is so excellent.

Perhaps Green wanted that to be left to our imaginations, but I can’t help but feel let down that we never got a taste of it. The townies' cruel brand of justice doesn’t stick, though, and while wriggling on the line, he finally finds some people crazy enough to talk. Ray Wise, who plays William Dekker, had a creepy type of charm to him. Exactly. Most parts I suspected that they didn’t even know it was a movie. ‘Anonymous Animals’ trailer has arrived. It’s all about tension, and because he does a nearly perfect job leading us into the mouth of madness, Digging Up the Marrow becomes a surprisingly horrifying experience. Normally these qualities would be a turn off ….but it all kind of worked.

That’s quite the compliment when you consider we are talking about horror films here. Adam Green is back behind the camera (and in front of it) with his first feature film since 2010’s Victor Crowley bloodbath Hatchet II, as he explores the possibility of a world beneath our own in which monsters actually exist in his faux documentary Digging Up the Marrow.
